Discover the power of 5 minutes. Learn to unlock your creativity with free writing and lines of impact. Explore creative tools you can use to inspire your writing like story linking, shuttles, title storms, and so much more. We'll be writing together, sharing together and getting inspired by each other. This is just the beginning.

EXPAND
In this workshop, you'll spend time developing what you learned in Explore. We'll be writing using your personal stories — what I like to call your folklore — for inspiration. We'll also take a deep dive into our senses and explore why this is one of the most powerful ways to make your writing come alive. This one is gonna be juicy!

IGNITE
Let’s put it all together! With some serious writing time under our belts, we'll fine tune your personal writing practice, making sure it is something that delights you. Putting pen to paper we'll play with a few final, secret writing techniques, write together one last time, and have a Q&A session so when you leave, you feel impassioned.

Your Guide
My name is Kat Koch and I have been writing and telling stories since my face filled with freckles at the age of 5.
In 2025 I self-published my first book – a travel memoir about my time living in Ireland. I was 44 years old. The book is called Rainbow Weather. And I used the techniques you'll learn in Fire & Stars to help get me there.
My favorite thing about running these writing workshops is witnessing the absolute magic that comes out of people when they free write. From writers and people who would never call themselves that.
I love creating safe spaces to explore.
And I love the smell of beeswax candles.
